What is this game?

castawayrp is a short-term mystery game with exploration mechanics! It takes influence from Dead by Daylight, Super Dangan Ronpa 2, Lost, and all of those weird summer events in Fate/Grand Order. Characters wake up on the beach of the Pink Prism Resort, an abandoned waterpark where something grisly clearly happened, but the issue is--what did happen? And how can you return home?

What kinds of characters can I app?
Any kind! Canon, CRAU, that one niche AU you wrote that only appeals to yourself but by god you're standing by it, go nuts! The only kind I'm going to say no to are real-life people. No rpf pls.
Additionally, there's an age minimum of 15 years old, but if you have a 12 - 14 year old who's seen some shit, they're also welcome.
Please take into account that while there won't be any player character death, there will be heavy discussion of murder having occurred in the setting, as well as themes of unreality and existential nothingness and make your character choice accordingly o/
What if my character is dead?
That's fine! They'll wake up on the island with any injuries or illnesses having healed to a non-life-threatening state (but just barely). However, any injuries or illnesses don't seem to heal or progress while you're here. Thankfully, there's a plentiful first-aid stock to keep those wounds bandaged!
How many characters per canon?
Two! OCs will be capped at three.
How many characters will be in the game?
I'm shooting for at least 6 or so, but will hardcap it at 15. One character per player.
When is this game going to run?
Roughly early February, though the exact dates are pending. The run length would be maybe 4 weeks-ish.
Are there reserves? How about apps?
No reserves! And apps are more of a signup form, really. I don't imagine this will have a huge amount of people knocking on the door, so I'll leave apps open for a week or so and then the game will start.
Is there an activity check?
Nope! But I'll be asking you guys to check in once a week just to make sure y'all are still here.
If this isn't a murdergame, what events are going to happen?
Great question! Guided exploration events will happen on Saturday that reveal more pieces of the setting and the game's story. Of course, characters are welcome to explore and look for clues during the week, but the weekend event is where the meat of the poking around will happen. If you've played in ECATS/commentspam-type games, I'm aiming for events to be similar to exploradora games and heartgames.
What about powers?
Powers are on! Game-breaking powers will be nerfed just to keep the setting intact--if your character can hop to different dimensions or destroy buildings with a punch, they'll find those abilities are still there, but there's something preventing them from accessing them for the time being. Hm.
Can my character bring things from home? Pets? Pokemon?
As long as it was on their person at the time of arrival, yes! Weapons or magical objects will be subject to the same power nerf as above. Do not bring your tank to the beach pls, think of the (nonexistent) hermit crabs :(
Are there any content warnings for Castaway?
Aside from the murdergame standard (death, blood, a lot of blood), there will be a recurring theme of unreality and existential nothingness in this game. Please keep this in mind if you choose to join!

You're at the Pink Prism Resort! A luxury indoor waterpark on the tropical beach of, uh...well, the exact location doesn't matter! You have all the amenities the resort has to offer to busy yourself with.
Can we go home?
You can try! No one specifically is keeping you here. But you're stuck on an island with a deserted dock, swimming out into the ocean only sends you back to the other side of the resort, and trying to fly up high enough will send you careening back to earth.
Do we have to...you know. Graduate?
Nah, there aren't any robots or teenage girls looking for bloodsport here. In fact, basically no one is here. Weird.
What's with the huge fucking bloodstains?
Oh, about that! No one knows, really. You can try to clean them off, but they don't seem to be going anywhere. It's fine.
Hey...I've been here all week and I'm not getting hungry at all. What gives?
Yeah, you'll find that you don't have any need to eat or drink while you're at the resort, though you're free to pick at the kitchen's stock if you'd like!
Why aren't there any fish in the ocean around the resort?
